Hi! My name is Meg Takacs and I’m a running coach and entrepreneur.
In 2007, I went to the University of Georgia, where I majored in journalism, and minored in anthropology. In 2009, I transferred to Georgia State University, where I ran track and field (800 meter race), and graduated with a degree in journalism. After I graduated in 2011, I dabbled in marketing for about 2 years, working as a digital project manager and PR specialist.
In 2012, I quit the marketing world (the 9-5 life just wasn’t for me), and decided to become a personal trainer. I missed running, and wanted to really hone in on my passion for it. One day, I walked into an LA Fitness and asked for a job. They put me at the front desk, where I scanned people’s key cards for about 2 months until I got my personal training certification (ISSA) and became a trainer. Shortly after, I left LA fitness, and began my job at Thrive Fitness in Atlanta, which was a small, 1:1, group class, boutique training studio. In 2013, we opened a CrossFit box, which is when I got my CrossFit L2 certification. I trained about 30 clients a week and worked with college football athletes, training them for the NFL combine.
In 2016, I saw the fitness industry trending digital, and knew I wanted to be a part of it. So, I took out a $10,000 loan and moved to New York City. Shortly after I moved to New York, I became a founding trainer at an app called Aaptiv, where I helped bring the company a $20 million investment and took the app to over 200k subscribers. At Aaptiv, we pioneered the audio-fitness space, and I’m thankful that I was a part of that because…
In 2019, I left the company to create my own app, which at the time was called Run With Meg. In 2021, I decided to go all in on my own brand. I hired a branding agency, app developers, and a marketing manager and created Movement & Miles.
So, I guess you could say I eventually married my two passions: brand development and fitness. M/M now has over 2,000 subscribers and is my dream job! We offer race programs, monthly training plans, video-guided workouts, audio-guided runs, and so much more!
